HAMILTON, Ohio — In this week’s edition of Pet Pals, meet a sweet senior dog who doesn’t know how to act at his age.
Maxwell, or Max for short, is a 9-year-old pit mix currently at the Animal Friends Humane Society in Hamilton.
The shelter staff love Max. The volunteers said that while Max is technically considered a senior dog, he isn’t acting one.
“He has great energy. He’s always up for adventure, always up for meeting new friends. I’ve personally been able to take him to mobile pet events and he just loved meeting everyone in the community, hanging out with some other dogs,” said Sarah, of the Animal Friends Humane Society.
Sarah said Max makes everyone he meets laugh and smile.
If you plan on making Max a part of her forever home, Sarah encourages families to bring their dogs and children for a meet and greet with Max. Sarah said Max does well with other dogs and others, but it’s always best to have a meet and greet first.
“He’s just been amazing here with us, so we think he would fit into most home environments to really live his golden years,” Sarah said. She went on to say that Max still has a ton of energy and a lot of life left to live.
